Is religion simply manmade or has it always been?

And if religion IS simply manmade, does that nullify its' teachings, or could it be that god intended the creation of it, and man has made it perverse, as we have with most things given to us? I'm 15 years old & I've been wrestling with my faith for about a month or so now. In this time I've pondered many things & tried not to have fear of death, or such things cloud my judgement. So I've come out with this.... I do have faith. Very much so, in the hopes that I will end up with my creator when I p, and that Jesus Christ has died for my sins. I think more of my issue was that I'm a somewhat logical person, and the fact that I could not back the exsistence of god, really put my faith through a test. I know no one can truly give me an answer, but I'd like to know whether or not religion truly was manmade.. and if so, what would you have people believe if the fact that its manmade discredits it ?
