Is the military spying on us?

with osama bin laden being killed and the crashed drone i was wondering could the goverment be spying on us every day with small drones no one could see high in the sky? even if some radars detected them the goverment runs the airports .. ect could they have a drone that picks up cell phone calls, take video and pics everday with out any one knowing?
