Does height matter when you're dating?

There was a special on an entertainment news show last night about people getting limb lengthening surgery. The girl wanted to be taller for her wedding and the guy wanted to be taller to meet girls. Is height really that big a deal? I'm a pretty tall girl (5'10") and, yes, I'm taller than many guys. But I would never have surgery to make myself taller or shorter. Are short people at a disadvantage in the dating world? Tall people? Do you even consider height on your potential date check list?
